Editorial Standards & AI Usage Policy

Effective date: 2026-05-28·Last updated: 2026-05-28

We catalog publicly listed Euro Truck Simulator 2 mods to make them easier to find, verify, and install. We do not host mod files. Every mod page links to the original creator or source.

How we build a mod page

We use software to discover mod pages and extract factual metadata such as category, file size, supported game version, and update date. We then write a short factual summary, verify the download link works, classify safety and compatibility, and review the page before publishing.

How we use AI

  • We use AI to draft short factual summaries and classify categories.
  • We do not use AI to write editorial guides or best-of lists. Those are written by a human editor.
  • We do not use AI to make safety or compatibility claims. Those come from deterministic checks and human review.
  • During the MVP period, every published page is reviewed by a human editor before going live. After day 90, AI-drafted summaries may auto-publish only when the quality score is ≥ 90 and the source tier is ≥ 2.

What we will not claim

  • We never publish a page that copies the creator's full description.
  • We never claim a mod is “safe” unless an independent virus scan has actually run. Until then, we label the trust strip honestly (“Not independently scanned”).
  • We never claim a mod is “compatible” with a specific ETS2 version without showing the verification date alongside.
  • We do not use ratings or download counts we did not collect.

Source tiers

Every external site we crawl is classified into one of five tiers that govern what we extract (metadata only, summaries, screenshots, etc.). Read the public tier policy on the /bot page.

Creators: claim or opt out

If you are the creator of a mod listed here, you can claim it, edit the metadata, hide it, or redirect the “Go to source” button to your site. Email the address on our Legal & Privacy Contact page with the link to the mod and proof you control the creator account (a post on your own website or Steam profile). We respond within 24 hours.

Reviews and re-verification

Mod download links are re-checked every 24 hours. Compatibility is re-scored every 7 days as the live game version drifts. Summaries are regenerated when the upstream source page changes. Every mod page shows its last-verified date directly above the download button.

Reporting an inaccuracy

Any mod page can be reported via the “Report this mod” button. We aim to acknowledge reports within 24 hours and act on valid reports within 48 hours.
