1. What cookies and local storage are

Cookies are small text files a site stores in your browser. Local storage and session storage are similar browser mechanisms that keep small amounts of data on your device. We use all three sparingly, and most of the data we store stays in your browser and is never sent to our servers.

2. Essential cookies

These are required for sign-in and security. They are set only when relevant and are stored as HttpOnly cookies:

• ets_web_user — a signed token identifying your World of Trucks–linked account after you sign in. Expires after about 30 days.
• wot_session — an encoded World of Trucks session token that lets us refresh your public profile without asking for your password again. Expires after about 30 days.
• ets_master — an administrative session token set only on the operator's admin sign-in page, not on visitor pages. Expires after about 12 hours.

3. Functional storage (kept in your browser)

The following keys live in your browser's local or session storage and are not transmitted to us:

• ets2_profile_data — a cached copy of your connected World of Trucks profile, so it loads quickly.
• ets2_intro_shown — remembers that you have seen the intro video so it does not replay.
• ets2_selected_game — remembers whether you are browsing the ETS2 or ATS section.
• ets2_recently_viewed — a short list of mods you recently viewed, used to show “recently viewed.”
• lo_view_{id} (session storage) — prevents a shared load order's view count from being double-counted in the same browser tab.

4. Analytics cookies

Google Analytics 4 & Google Tag Manager

We use Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager (operated by Google LLC) to understand aggregate traffic, such as which pages and mods are popular. These set Google cookies (for example, cookies beginning with _ga) to distinguish visitors and sessions. We have configured analytics to be privacy-conscious and do not use it for advertising on this Site. Learn more in Google's Privacy Policy and opt out with Google's browser add-on.

Separately, we keep our own first-party usage and outbound-click logs that store a salted, irreversible hash of your IP address rather than a cookie. See the Privacy Policy for details.

5. Your consent choices

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland see a consent banner on their first visit. Until you choose “Accept,” we do not load Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager at all — no analytics scripts run and no analytics cookies are set. Your choice is remembered in a first-party ets2_consent cookie; clear it (or your cookies) to be asked again. Visitors elsewhere can opt out using the controls below.

6. How to control cookies

• Browser settings. You can block or delete cookies and clear local storage in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will prevent sign-in and some features from working.
• Analytics opt-out. Use Google's opt-out add-on linked above, or a browser/extension that blocks analytics.
• Sign out. Signing out clears your session cookies.
